INNOVATION - Produced BBC 6 Music’s first ever live Google Hangout companion show with Moby as producer of Now Playing @6Music - which went on to win a Radio Academy Award for ‘Best Creative Innovation’.

However, the highlight has to be producing Ken Bruce’s BBC Radio 2 show in which Terry Wogan surprised his super-fan Dermot O’Leary with his performance of The Floral Dance. outside BBC Broadcasting House
OUTSIDE BROADCASTS
As an experienced live radio producer, I’ve been entrusted to lead teams for various outside broadcasts.
This includes the BBC 6 Music Breakfast show’s broadcast from a boat on The Thames to mark the anniversary of pirate radio.
ORIGINAL IDEAS - Conceived then launched this original classical-meets-electronic music crossover show for Bauer’s newly launched modern classical network, Scala Radio. The series, presented by the classically-trained global DJ and member of the electronic group Faithless, was one of the network’s most popular and engaged shows - and won a New York Festivals Radio Award for Best Classical Format.
QUICK THINKING / EDITORIAL JUDGEMENT / LEADING A TEAM - Was asked to produced BBC Radio 2’s high profile, quick turnaround live tribute to George Michael.
I led the team, as we delivered the live show - largely building it as we broadcast. This included creating a sensitive music tracklist, sourcing live star guests and locating key archive.
ORIGINAL IDEAS:
Conceived the idea, then lead-produced Michael Jackson 60@60 all-star format for August Bank Holiday 2018, which went across all daytime shows on BBC Radio 2.
This involved an exclusive countdown of the music star’s 60 best-selling tracks, plus rare archive and famous fans picking their favourite ever MJ songs.
ALL STAR SERIES - Produced BBC 6 Music’s 2019 series of the hit show The First Time… featuring a diverse range of names in conversation including Ronnie Wood, Toots Hibbard (of Toots and The Maytals), Cat Power, Tom Morello (Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine) and - to tie in with Echo and The Bunnyman’s headline slot at the 6 Music Festival - Ian McCulloch.
