AbouT - QUICK OVERVIEW

Hello. How are you? Thank you for being interested in my website and the things I create.

The short version: I love audio. Simple as that. I’m never happier than when producing live radio or creating podcasts recording interesting guests, scripting narratives/storytelling, or squirrelled away editing.

The long version, if you should want more detail: I’m a bit of a Swiss Army Knife. I’m a:

  • Exec Producer

  • Music and Entertainment Radio Producer

  • Podcast Producer

  • Speech Radio/Documentary Producer

  • Trained Journalist

  • Digital/Social Producer

I have a track record in delivering high quality radio and podcast content for some of the biggest broadcasters and brands (see Awards section).

VERSATILE: I’ve also received awards for my storytelling/documentary skills and for creating innovative digital content. As a result, I have 1st class production skills, sound editorial judgement, and am used to working with a range of stakeholders, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Podcast work includes the #1 Apple Music Podcast series The A-Z of Phil Collins, the chart-topping BBC Sounds/BBC Radio 1 Gemma Collins Podcast, Absolute Radio’s Elevenses with Danielle Perry, The Daily Mail’s culture pod It’s Friday and politics pod Order! Order!, BMW’s Play Next with Edith Bowman, Kermode on Film and podcasts for BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music shows. Plus some exciting new series in production with big name talent which I can’t say much about right now….!

GREAT WITH TALENT: I have honed talent management skills and am experienced in working with some of the industry’s biggest names. I have been entrusted with producing everyone from Zoe Ball to Trevor Nelson and Jarvis Cocker to Iggy Pop, as well as developing/nurturing less experienced talent as they undertake their first dep slots or new audio projects.

IDEAS: I’m an ideas-person – and always have lots of ideas up my sleeve. As an experienced Development Producer, I’m more than used to conceiving and pitching fresh and innovative content ideas to clients, to successfully win new business. I have a great contacts book which offers direct links with talent - many of whom I’m currently in the process of developing ideas with.

JOURNALISM: I also trained as a news journalist, initially working as a crime reporter/investigative journalist on newspapers. I’ve even reported from Bosnia. So, as well as delivering high quality music and entertainment content, I can equally turn my hand to factual or hard-hitting content, such as true crime podcasts.

DIGITAL: I also have bonus digital content-making skills – which includes previously being a Digital Editor at ITV (working across music, drama and entertainment) and also winning ‘Best Creative Innovation’ at The Radio Academy Awards for my multi-platform work at the BBC. Therefore, I have a firm understanding of how to harness digital/social platforms to increase engagement around my audio content, including visualisation.

MENTOR: I’ve been fortunate enough to lead some great teams. I had some great mentors. So I try to pass it on. I’m one of 20 mentors for the BBC’s Sandy Chalmers’ Mentoring Scheme plus I also mentor ex-offenders for the amazing charity The Longford Trust.

So that’s me.

I also enjoy… drinking lots of tea, growing my own veg, watching a good film, upcycling stuff (usually painting discarded furniture I’ve ‘rescued’), collecting original Penguin Books (especially first editions) and taking way too many photos on my phone of objects and scenes I spot on my travels. I also have a pet fox.

Why not message me to say hello.

Kellie
